Usage

SLOW COOKERS CHICKEN CURRY

1 sachet Schwartz Slow Cookers Chicken Curry Recipe Mix

1 onion, diced

1 red pepper, cut into chunks

450g (1lb) potatoes, cut into chunks

450g (1lb) chicken, diced

400g tin chopped tomatoes

175g (6oz) fresh spinach

1. Place onion, pepper, potatoes and chicken into your slow cooker pot.

2. Mix sachet contents with chopped tomatoes, and add to slow cooker pot. Stir through.

3. Cover and cook for up to 4 hours on HIGH or up to 8 hours on LOW, or until the meat and potatoes are tender and cooked through. (Keep covered during cooking. Slow Cookers vary. Directions based on a 3.5 litre Morphy Richards model.)

4. Remove lid, stir spinach through and stand for 5 minutes before serving.

5. Delicious served with rice and mango chutney.

Hints & Tips

Why not try replacing the diced chicken with skinless chicken thighs or diced lamb. If you have time, try browning off the meat in a frying pan before adding to the slow cooker.

We have tested our cooking directions in both 3.5 litre slow cookers and the larger 6.5 litre varieties. We would recommend using our Recipe Mixes in a 3.5 litre slow cooker for best results. If you are using a 6.5 litre slow cooker we would recommend doubling the recipe, or adding more water at the beginning to prevent the recipe drying out during the cooking process, due to the larger surface area. 

We have tested a variety of slow cooker brands to ensure that our directions are accurate, but it is always best to check your manufacturer’s guidelines too for more specific information on the slow cooker that you are using.

Schwartz Slow Cooker Recipe Mixes - using a 3.5L slow cooker, the recipe on the back of pack works very well without the addition of water, unless specifically stated in the recipe. The ingredients required, such as a tin of tomatoes, vegetables and meat are sufficient to give you the perfect result at the end of the cooking time.
