Deliciously tasty bars, combining oats, fruit and nuts with sweet honey and Cinnamon, great for a sweet treat for breakfast.
- 200g (7oz) porridge oats
- 100g (4oz) flaked almonds
- 50g (2oz) walnuts, chopped
- 1 tbs honey
- 50g (2oz) unsalted butter
- 100g (4oz) Muscovado sugar
- 1 tsp Schwartz Cinnamon Ground
- 75g (3oz) dried cherries
- 75g (3oz) dried cranberries
These bars will keep in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
STEP 1Pre-heat the oven to 170°C, 325°F, Gas Mark 3.
STEP 2Place the oats, flaked almonds and walnuts on a baking tray and lightly toast for around 5 minutes.
STEP 3Meanwhile, warm the honey, butter, sugar and Cinnamon in a large saucepan, until the butter is melted. Pour in the toasted oat mixture, add the fruit and stir well until everything is combined.
STEP 4Lightly grease and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper, then spoon the oat mixture in. Press down firmly with the back of a spoon so the mix is compacted.
STEP 5Cover loosely with greaseproof paper and bake for 20 minutes.
STEP 6Allow to cool in the tin and then cut into 12 bars.
