Barbacoa Slow-Cooked Beef Tacos

Tossed in Herdez Barbacoa Seasoning and cooked until perfectly tender, tasty shredded Barbacoa meat makes weeknight meals easy! Simply serve in warm tortillas with a spoonful of Herdez Salsa Casera, sour cream, and shredded lettuce for a meal to remember.

400 g stewing beef, diced
1 sachet Herdez Barbacoa Seasoning
2 tbs oil
1 red onion, sliced
3 tbs cider vinegar
2 tsp tomato purée
250 ml water
10 mini tortilla wraps
1 jar Herdez Salsa Casera
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Pre-heat oven to 170°C, 325°F, Gas Mark 4.
- 2 Toss beef in the seasoning and coat evenly. Heat oil and fry beef and onion for 3-4 minutes. Transfer to a casserole dish, mix the vinegar, tomato purée and water and add to the casserole.
- 3 Cover and cook for 1 hour 45 minutes, or until the meat is tender, then shred with 2 forks. Serve in warm tortillas with Salsa Casera, sour cream and shredded lettuce.
- 4 Slice the rested steaks against the grain, season with salt and the remaining Herdez Barbacoa Seasoning, to taste, and serve with the sauce.
